Brad Scott is a Founding Director of Applied. Brad oversees all aspects of client engagement from strategy to day-to-day operations and implementation. Brad has worked with clients such as Accenture, Altria, BP, Corning, Genworth Financial, Hewlett-Packard, LG Electronics, Lilly, Central Park Conservancy, World Trade Center Redevelopment, Panasonic, Procter & Gamble and Verizon. Brad is an internationally recognized speaker and industry commentator on branding and technology. He has spoken at conferences in China, Australia, the UK and the United States, and has been interviewed by leading associations and publications, such as Brandweek, the Associated Press, How, salon.com and Wired. His work has been showcased in Print AtoZ, Communication Arts and Vogue magazines. His awards include a Clio Award, a British Design & Art Direction Pencil, and a Gold Lion from the Cannes International Festival of Creativity. Previously, Brad honed his skills working for Landor Associates; imc2, an Internet marketing and advertising agency; and Clear Ink, an Internet strategy, technology and design firm.
Craig Dobie is a Founding Creative Director of Applied. Craig’s experience includes high profile projects for the National September 11 Memorial & Museum, Citi's sponsorship of Team USA at the 2012 Olympic Games, and the World Trade Center Redevelopment. Craig executed these projects across all consumer touchpoints. He has spent the last 20 years creating, managing and implementing brands in both Europe and the United States. His strategically focused work has touched audiences on many levels and in many forms, giving him invaluable insight into the wider applications of design and customer engagement. Craig’s skill at identifying and articulating the essence of a brand was built in key creative positions he previously held at Landor Associates, Addison, Interbrand and Wolff Olins. His clients have included Barclays, the BBC, the Central Park Conservancy, Citigroup, Inc., Microsoft, the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, Sony Computer Entertainment Europe and the World Gold Council. His accolades include a Recognition of Excellence in Design from AIGA (American Institute of Graphic Arts), Good Design Awards and a Gold Lion from the Cannes International Festival of Creativity. He holds a bachelor’s degree with honors in visual communication from Edinburgh College of Art in the United Kingdom. Craig served as an adjunct professor of graphic design at Parsons School of Design — The New School for several years, and studied Japanese at the Japan Society in New York.
Katherine Pereira joined Applied as Managing Director of the West Coast office. In this position, she is responsible for overseeing accounts, developing client relationships and building business. Katherine is a skilled account leader with expertise in brand strategy, identity and advertising. Throughout her career, she has worked across a broad range of brands and categories including Telecommunications, Hospitality, Retail, Banking, Fast Food and many others.
Most recently Katherine held the role of Client Partner at sparks & honey where she worked to identify and maximize the business impact of future trends for her clients in beauty, CPG, and government.
Prior to that experience, Katherine was Group Managing Director at mcgarrybowen leading the JCPenney business and overseeing the inter-agency marketing process, managing a collection of agency partners. During her tenure at mcgarrybowen Katherine was responsible for building and running the agency’s brand identity and branding strategy discipline. In that position she helped clients such as Verizon, J.P. Morgan, Marriott brands and Intel reposition their brands and create a communications framework to enable consistent messaging and activation across channels and verticals.
Katherine started her career at Y&R and Landor where she cut her teeth working with clients such as Colgate-Palmolive, Genworth Financial, HanesBrands and Burger King.
Melissa (Millie) is a Senior Account Director at Applied where her goal is to make lasting business impact across all of our projects.
Millie has extensive experience and insights into branding programs with a diverse portfolio of clients. This in-depth knowledge allows her to manage brand programs that strengthens brands and transcend industries. Her passion lies in ensuring a strong strategic brand vision becomes an emotive brand experience.
Prior to joining Applied Design Works, Millie built her knowledge while working at Landor Associates, Wolf Olins, HZ Design group, and C Space. Her clients have included the 9/11 Museum, Anheuser-Busch InBev, Cabot Creamery, Church & Dwight, Colgate, DuPont Pioneer, Hilton, HSBC, Husqvarna, Ingersoll Rand, Johnson & Johnson, Moen, Mondelez, Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board, and Wilson Sporting Goods.
Millie received an M.B.A. from Binghamton University and a Bachelor of Arts from SUNY Oneonta. She is a Certified Master Composter in sustainability and seeks opportunities to infuse engaging, eco-friendly attributes into her projects wherever possible.
Elliott Scott (no relation to Brad) is a Creative Director at Applied. Elliott’s ten years of experience as a designer have allowed him to work in London, Dublin, Sydney and New York City, across a wide range of different brands, industries and projects. His most recent projects include working with World Trade Center Redevelopment to create and implement the brand identity and site-wide wayfinding system for the World Trade Center. Additional clients and projects include New York Life, an Alcoa/Times Square Alliance partnership and Citi’s sponsorship of Team USA for the 2012 Olympic Games. Elliott has worked at Saatchi&Saatchi Design, Interbrand, Moon Communications and Landor Associates. He has collaborated with brands such as A1 Mobilkom, City of Brisbane, OFFSET, British Handball, Mercy Ships, the World Health Organization, Comcast and Bose to create designs that are distinct, provocative, engaging and functional. His accolades include awards from D&AD (British Design & Art Direction), AGDA (Australian Graphic Design Association) and AIGA (American Institute of Graphic Arts). Elliott’s work has been published in Creative Review, the New York Times, and appeared on the cover of Computer Arts, amongst others.
Hayes Roth is an Advisory Board Member of Applied. In his role, Hayes actively participates in client projects as well as being a business advisor for the agency.
He is founder of HA Roth Consulting LLC (HARC) a marketing consulting firm specializing in strategic positioning, brand development and client/agency relationship building. Clients include the Consumer Bankers Association, Catholic Medical Mission Board, Fluor Engineering, Hackensack Meridian Health, The Civil War Trust, Brand Union|Group XP and the Council on Foreign Relations.
Previously, Hayes spent 19 years at Landor, a leading branding and design firm. As Chief Marketing Officer, he was responsible for marketing and business development initiatives across the firm’s 24 offices worldwide. Hayes also led branding programs for Cleveland Clinic, Royal Caribbean International, Ryder, Affinia Hotels, Columbia University, ITT, NYSE, Citi, Altria, The PGA of America, United Negro College Fund, Hartford HealthCare, The World Trade Center
and The Moody’s Foundation, among many others.
Earlier at his own firm, Roth Marketing Communications Inc., his clients included The Perrier Group, Price Waterhouse and T. Rowe Price. Previously he spent 15 years in advertising serving clients such as General Mills, General Foods, Merrill Lynch and P&G while at Campbell Mithun, Y&R and Saatchi, respectively.
Hayes is a frequent lecturer at leading business schools, a former Adjunct Professor of Marketing at City College of New York and a regularly cited spokesperson for the branding industry. A University of Miami graduate, he is Chair of the College of Charleston’s Communication School’s Advisory Council, a member of the Cornell Johnson Executive Advisory Committee, part of the Wharton Future of Advertising 2020 Council and on the Board of Directors of the Advertising Educational Foundation.
Saeko Hinomoto is a Senior Production Designer at Applied. Saeko works in tandem with the team
to oversee execution and quality on all design projects and collateral.
Born in Japan and raised between there and the U.S., Saeko received a BFA in graphic design from Massachusetts College of Art. She worked as a designer for high-profile agencies including Continuum and Johnson & Johnson, but her unparalleled organizational and detail-oriented skills lead her towards technical design and production management.
Saeko previously held the position of Senior Production Artist at DBOX for 4 years, where she worked on some of New York’s leading real estate projects. Her cross-cultural upbringing and bi-lingual skills have served as an asset to her design sensibilities and client relations with vendors, publications and media buyers alike. In her spare time, she studies dance and enjoys going to events around the world with her dance friends.
Jenna Hagan is a Senior Designer at Applied. Over the past 6 years, she’s worked at start-ups and advertising agencies in Baltimore, Seattle and New York across a variety of media. Jenna’s most recent projects include working on NYU Langone Health collateral, the NBC Rio 2016 Olympic Games branding, and T-Mobile’s B2B photography. She’s worked at NBC, Publicis Seattle, and various tech start-ups. Jenna’s wide range of experience has given her a versatile and flexible approach to design. In her spare time, she cooks elaborate meals and volunteers with animals.
Lindsay Novis is an Account and Studio Coordinator at Applied. She previously worked for Atelier Ace, the in-house creative agency of the Ace Hotel Group, the International Senior Lawyers Project, and the Clinton Global Initiative. She is originally from the mountains of western Montana, and moved to New York City to study Arabic and French at Fordham University. In her free time she runs long distances, makes zines with her friends, and dances salsa.
